National symposium on autism spectrum disorder: between diagnosis and support in adulthood.
 
The Neurodevelopmental and Learning Disorders Research Laboratory organized, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, a national symposium on autism spectrum disorder: between diagnosis and adult support. Chaired by Prof. Boursali Faima Zahra.
This event comes at a time when there is a growing need to understand the unique challenges facing adults with autism. Recent studies have highlighted significant difficulties in adapting to the physiological, psychological, behavioral, and social changes associated with adolescence for these individuals.
The conference included:
1. Increased understanding of the clinical symptoms of autism in adolescence to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and assessment.
2. Identification of concurrent disorders and symptoms in adults
3. highlighting the daily challenges affecting the independence and integration of adults with autism, personal independence, and academic and professional paths for individuals on the autism spectrum.
4. Examination of the various educational, psychological, and pharmacological methods appropriate for this age group.
